What is an "event"

I'm sorry for that stupid question:(
I ask a man on L2 "Where did you get that Blue Party Hat?"
And he say "It's an event", and what is that?:confused:
I know it's a stupid question..

A lineage 2 event as i think of it:

Its a organized event managed by the gm's for the players so they can have fun and get prices at the end of the event, the event could be pvp event where the players forms 2 teams and pvp each others in arena like collusim. or raid boss event where the players go to kill a raid boss like anthars, there are other types of events i dont know.

If someone knows a better definition or extra inforamtion please post here.

well...if powersnork plays Official....it's a kind of different explanation...events at Official are at a regular basis...I mean almost every 1-2 months...and their duration is a little higher...

If ur playing on dementia, i seem to remember that the gms sometimes do events like hide-and-seek and such, but i dont remember them being too frequent
