Hmmm... Gladiator is also good.

destroyer and tyrant are like 2nd class transfers, so u guys(and lady) mean Titan and Grand khavatari since that would be what i will be in the end then right? or are destroyer and tirant better then the 3rd class transfers? :/ sounds weird to me :P also i dislike orc haha i figured they wud be the storngest class but i rlly dislike orcs cuz they r always ugly and to big -.- so are there like good (not average but i mean good :P but not supergood like the orc but just good) classes at human/dark elfs/elfs wich can tank good (same thing again with the good) and do some awsome damage? i love mmorpgs cause i always like to be impressive and outstanding :P so what class should i become to be impressive and outstanding? :P u know like a clan leader and that the entire clan looks up to you as the leader bu tu have to be strong and impressive to get that effect :P:P well thats quite the story i just wrote ^^ waiting for replies now :)

I guess your right about the 3 class, I just always say Tyrant and Destroyer:p
I agree with you, I don't like orcs either there just ugly!
Thats why I always made something like a Dark elf then changed its base class to orc.
I dont really know what other class's would be good, Admin and Arabule would know more then me;)

i can get a Dark elf tyrant? 0.0 is that possible? :O:O!!!! :):):):) then why did they spread out the different classes over races? -.-
arabule and admin can u still tell me the strongest class as tank+attacker in the dark elf/elf/human races? appreciated :)
Yes and no.
You lvl up a dark elf character to lvl 80, then you can choose a subclass "tyrant or whatever you want" and then lvl it to 80. Now you have the skills and power of 2 characters in one. Thats called SubClass system.
Human gladiator can tank but not as good as a tyrant or destroyer. Mage characters are not strong but very deadly. A mage character will always "hit and run", but if they get caught..... :dead:
Remember that each character has its strong and weak points. There is no perfect character ;)

lets say a duelist, i heard they are pretty good in dmging pvp and pve :/ and then get it to lvl 80 and make subclass titan(tyrant) then it can tank as good as a tyrant and do as many dmg as the duelist? :/ that way u would get a perfect char right? :/
and i will keep the special attacks of the duelist for attacking and the skills of tyrant aswell? :O

If you make a duelist and lvl it to 80 and then change its subclass to Titan or Tyrant, you cant have both skills of both, only one. You have to donate, if you can on the server you play on to have both skills of Titan and duelist.
Admins right theres no perfect character, we have all try to make one, but I know I haven't been able too. Every character has good parts and bad.

subclass system basically allows u to get multiple chars in one. this means that, while one day u may want to be a tank, the next u can be a mage. this can be very useful when working with other ppl, either in a clan or a party. with reference to being able to both take and dish damdge, id suggest Destro, Tyrant, Gladi and also Warlord, which can hit loads of mobs for large quantities of dmg at once (the fun of poles^^)

i think i will be a warrior -> warlord -> dreadnought first ^^ since i like doing massive damage :) then at lvl 80 my subclass will be like (?) orc raider -> destroyer -> titan (this is the best tanking class right?) that gets close to the perfect char right? what are the bad points about this combo? :/
about subclass, if i get it right, 1 character can basicly switch between 2 classes like i mentioned up here? so lets say i was planned as a dreadnought in a raid but then our tank got sick, meaning i can switch my class to titan to fill in for the sick tank? :/
sorry for my noobishness but i like to do it right the first tme i iwll play it lol and this gives me an advantage on my friends ;);)
ps dreadnoughts dont just carry poles like lances right? :/ also huuuge 2 handed swords? (A) i hate poles cuz i dont think they look cool at all -.- although big swords are kinda impressive to me :P
It seems that you are interested in the LOOK more than the character it self :)
I also see that you underestimate Mages alot and you will be sorry for this. Dreadnought is strong and hard to kill but Mages hit faster and cause much more dmg. A mage will root your ass so you cant move, they will hit you with Slow, Hate, Confusion, Poison....etc You name it, they have it.
Think of a mage as a sniper, you would have a group of soldiers being killed one by one by a Sniper and they can't do much about it, no matter how strong they are ;)
The "First" rule in group pvp/wars. Kill the mage's and root the tanks ;)

looks are indeed very important to me cause for me it is 50% more fun playing with a char that when i log in im like: damn yeah instead of: oh well i guess its strong.. but strength is indeed important aswell ^^ also i have played some mmorpgs and i just never played good with mages :P i always rushed in to much -.- ->i just wanna be up front beating the enemy up or taking on the awsome powerfull monster so the rest can kill it <- :P every mmorpg i played i kinda owned the warrior classes and did do alot less at the rogue/mage :P simply cuz i just forgot or didnt wanna runaway or i ran in to fast and took a beating and needed like 1000 potions lol ^^
if im dreadnought/titan class combination then ofcourse i will have mages in my team aswell :P but even though mages are powerfull i just suck at the class so i would waste their power :P but ok what would be a good class+subclass for me then? my style is to stay up front and give/get a beating :P but whats the best mage then? i hate healing aswell ^^
Well, Create a Dreadnought and ask your friends to create Mage characters. I would say a Bishop "Best Healer" and a Necro "Killing Machine"
Now you stay up front and give/get a beating. Necro will be killing them real fast while you cover him. The bishop would be healing all of you, which would make it impossible to be killed, thats why your enemy will try to kill the bishop first ;)

Honestly i dont like to tank and run after someone in the game, i play in many servers and all my basic chars are Hawkeye's, and he do very well in pvp, people get fraid when they see a hawkeye player (becuase he can hit you but you can't) and becuase he can stun you, do alot of dmg and can run faster than other chars, when you play with hawkeye, remmber one thing if you playing with a char which can tank, dont let him ever catch you, also hawkeye can kill more than one player alone if you know how to use it, when to attack and to click your (Dash) skill and run :run:

if i played a char wich has strong offensive power but from a distance, i would just stand there and try take him out first lol but i heard that doesnt work in L2 (it sometimes worked in other mmorpgs :P) so i go with my best style :P ok my last questions untill i start lineage 2 /o/ (i got my pc today :P) 1 can a dreadnought tank ok? i know its prolly not the best tanker but can it tank? :P 2 necro is the "strongest"(dmging) mage right? :P since i guess i shud make my subclass a mage then :P:P
Arabule

:congra: for the pc, its good to start with a strong character, but if you didn't like it, you can always make a new one and as many you make, as many experience you got :)

a point about private servers-u could try out different classeson a high rate b4 coosing which one u wanna use on official, as u only have one shot (really) on official
So Epion. How is playing lineage 2 after 2 months ?
I hope you kicked some ass back at the official server :fight:

like the first week i was like lvl 25 with top d set and everything and then i just kinda went for the money like i loved to over enchant and sell them for way to much xD so after a month i was lvl 37 with 75mille xD wich i would say is not bad for a first char :P but then.. the creditcard i requested got denied and i dont play anymore hahaha im planning on going back in like a year ^.^ so basicly, i had best gear for my lvl, loads of money, a clan with only lvl 50+ and my weapon was top d duals +8 and i made lvl 37
i kinda disliked the excessive grinding alone though :P
sorry for my inactive-ness here but dont worry im keeping an eye in sight ;)
Sorry to hear about your credit card problems. Why not play a free private server and then move back to official when you have the card ?
It is no problem if you like 2 classes. Because if one class reaches level 76 (I think it was 76), he can choose a subclass. So you can have a Titan with the looks of a Dark Elf. But all the stats of the Titan (like p. atk).
I thought you might wanted to know because you are talking about a combination of Dreadnought and Necromancer. But a combination is not possible, because a subclass is a whole new class with the same name and looks.
But if you like tanks that do damage, the Paladin/Phoenix Knight and the Temple Knight -> Eva's Templar are nothing for you.
You should think about choosing Dark Avengers/Hell Knights or Shillien Knights/Shillien Templars instead.
The reason why people said you might want to go for a Titan is that a Titan is sometimes used for tanking because of their massive hp.
Edit 1: I'm sorry for bumping this old thread, but it can be found when someone uses the search function, so this information isn't useless.
Edit 2: Before I forget, a Dreadnought is not a tank. And besides this you talk about a 'strongest class'. But in Lineage II there is no such thing as a strongest class. For every situation there is a specific class better. It just depends on in which situation and playstyle you want to be.

hmm, "tank" is a very subjective term, being used as both a noun AND an adjective (eg: "my OL "tanked" a RB) it generally just implies a class that can take the damadge, something which a dreadnaught is very good at, especially with his heals

UD=ultimate defence, or in the case of a duellist, sonic barrier. the skill that gives u about 100k mdef and pdef, making u practically immortal for a short period of time (origionally only appeared on tanks, but in ct1, other classes get it to, albeit at about lvl 78+)
