Why doesn't it work =(

I just got LIneage II on my comp and it looks like something id like to play. Howerever its not working on the comp i just bought =( . I dont know if its the problem, but my computer runs on Vista instead of XP. I've heard a lot of bad things about Vista not being compatable with certain games and other programs but i havent had any other troubles yet =\. Can anyone help me?

one thing i also thought of was that i dont have the right drivers... dunno though =\

What do you mean it does not work ? What happens when you launch the game and if you are getting an error. Please post the error here.

Also, whats your computer details. Video card, memory...etc

im not exactly sure what my specs are on my comp cause im not at my house to check 0.o but ill get on that when i get home (just bought it and it had decent specs though). but i downloaded the game, patched it and manually updated it ... i click the icon then when the client pops up i click start, then the screen with the character and game title pops up but then it stays there locked up i cant exit out of it or even get rid of it through task manager... it wont even let me shut down my comp w/o holding down the power button... thats about all i can describe bout it until i get home, hope u can help with that info =)

Are you connecting to the official server or a private server ?

Anyway, I think its computer related. The game does take time to start. Will be waiting for your computer details when you get back home.

oh yea, and i was gonna try a privte server first then when i chose who i really wanted to stick with i was gonna move to the official.

Yes indeed. Many players play private servers for a start, then move to official once they made up their minds.

Your computer is perfect. Launch the game and click on "Check Files".

What private server are you tring to connect to and did they gave you an "Updater" to use ?

I've tryed one or two but i still can get the actual game to run =\ still having that same freezing issue... on aother note, do you have any private server you would recomend with high rates?

when the screen with the pic of the char and the game title/logos comes up(i assume u mean the one that isnt full screen) the game has not yet begun to run, hence u cannot shut it down with task manager. it may take some time to load the actual game, especially if u r running it for the first time(takes mine a while to load up when i first log after starting my comp), just let it run for a while and see if there is any improvement.

In some updaters you have to delete the system map. Check in their forums for a step-by-step guide. Maybe you must just try to start Lineage II and leave the computer for a while.

You ask for a server to try on before going official? Try L2 Heaven. You can find their link on the Lineage II Top 200 website, currently they are ranked second and they have 505 people online at the moment. Their rates are 500x, you level up VERY fast and you can check out any class.

guess im not quite out of the ball park yet... im trying to run Heaven's Wail Private Server and it keeps popping up with an error, ive tryed it serveral times and i tried playing around with it this time but it stil wont work >.<... it says "Downloading patch file failed" =\... i updated it and checked the files through the client and everythings there but i dont get the problem. If someone could help me out one more time i promise Ill stop bugging you =PP

Maybe if I download the patch for you (since I want to try Heaven's Wail too), and upload it on my own server. Or, if it's small, send it via msn to you.

Well I've downloaded the Heaven's Wail (or something like that) patch. It is only a few mb's so I've uploaded it somewhere.

well i finally figured out what the problem was with the Heaven's Wail Client... It was Vista related 0.o... well anyways what you have to do is after you put it in you "Lineage II" Floder under prgram files, you right click the HWUpdater application and you click "Run as Administrator" (That is if you are trying this out on Vista." All i have to do now is pray that the game will work once and for all =P

I updated my Lineage II with the HW Updater, I made an account at Lineage II Heaven's Wail. I can login, but I can't choose a server....?

I have never ever had this before.

i really have no ideaa, maybe the server was down? i havnt had this problem (yet) so i dont know what to say... but ill try to search for a way to fix it to help ya out ^^
