private servers?

Whats the difference between private servers and regular ones? i don't have the game yet i was just curious. please answer in detail

Ok, private servers are servers run by 'normal' persons. They run a server where you can play the same game for free.

You have got high rate and low rate servers. High rate servers make it easier to level up and get money, and are more pvp related.
Low rated server are more focussed on quests and roleplaying (in general).

When you see a server that has rates like x35, x35, etc. This means that leveling here is 35 times fasten than in retail/official, because official is 1x. The rates also count for getting SP (Skill Points), Adena and drops.

Private servers often use custom things too. Like adding new weapons and area's with new monsters. Sometimes whole new skills have been added, or skills that overpower certain classes have been deleted. Some private servers have a lot of events, this can be anything from running matches to pvp and group pvp.

For private servers you can PM me, because I don't know if I am allowed to post anything about it in this section.

Well just got a PM that I can say about private servers what I want, so I would recommend L2 Heaven's Wail for pvp.
I think that L2 Paradise can be a great server too, they are developing it now.
Or L2 Vendetta (the Zion) server, for role-playing and doing quests.

P.S. Don't know how the l2xreborn is like, but the old l2x was fantastic.

um i got on l2, and all i saw were the old servers.... hidemith, ect..... how do i long into pvp servers?!?!?!

they are not made by official L2-staff.
So you have to go to a website, for instance to http://www.hw-l2.eu/ .
then you need to do a few things:
1. download l2 interlude (maybe you have it already!)
2. download the updater, place it in your main lineage2/ map, then run the updater.
3. make an account at the www.hw-l2.eu site.
4. play :)

for more questions about this server you must look in their forum/boards.

But beware that you modify the original game, so if you want to go back so sieghardt, hindemith, bartz etc.. you must reinstal the game.
Also, you don't have to pay for private servers! So you can stop paying for your l2 account.

some private servers don't require an updater/patch or w/e, they just need u to change ur host. if u intend to do this, and need any further advice, add me on msn and ill take u through it.(ive done it a lot :P)

If you want to back to the new game. Alls you have to do is open the Lineage2.exe and run Fullcheck. It will fix sytem files, and sometimes the servers only use 'Host' files, So you don't have to change anything.


I would recommend a low rate server for starters because playing on a high-rate server will just ruin the experiance of the game when you first start playing. Low rate server you can go through everything, and learn and understand more.
